Emily has been outdoorsy for as long as she can remember but only starting working outdoors full time in recent years. Her background is in education, and although the first 13 years of her career were in a Primary School, she realised sharing knowldege of history, geology and geography outdoors was a better setting than the classroom. Emily aims is to inspire and support other women to get outside and explore with confidence.Sara is an ambassador for Peak Outdoor Community. She is a Hill and Moorland Leader, Life & Career Coach and Artist based on the edge of the Peak District. Sara is also the founder of 'Peak and Bloom' where she delivers a range of outdoor experiences with wellbeing, connection and creativity at the heart. This is paid for parking, approx £7 for 4 hours or more (correct at time of typing).We will meet at 9.50am to leave at 10am.Public transport: the 08.48 train from Manchester Picadilly arrives in Edale at 09.32. The 09.15 train from Sheffield arrives in Edale at 09.46.What to bring:Hiking boots or shoes with good grip and ankle supportSnacks/lunch to sustain you for around up to 4 hoursRucksackWater (at least 1L)WaterproofsWarm layersHat and glovesA small first aid kit with any personal medicationsWalking poles, sit mat, hot drink (optional extras)Terrain:Mostly easy footpaths and low level trails, with some gentle undulation. It's about taking in the views, learning about the history and geology of the area and being in nature, not about rushing to the finish line. Having said that, you are responsible for your own health and safety and with all outdoor activities, there can be risks involved. If you are unsure as to whether you are fit to come on this walk, please either consult your doctor or let us know your concerns. Please inform us of any medical conditions prior to the walk. Every participant must complete a Medical & Disclaimer form a minimum of 24 hours before the event begins. This will be sent via email so please look out for it.Our leaders are qualified Hill and Moorland and Mountain Leaders and level 3 Outdoor First Aid trained so they will be on hand in case of an emergency.Well behaved Dogs are welcome:If you feel you'll still be able to make the most of the networking and conversations on the day, then your furry sidekicks are more than welcome to come along, and especially if they are your usual work buddy! They will need to be on lead at times where roads, others dogs and livestock are present.Refund Policy*:Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled (see below). If you can no longer attend you are more than welcome to sell your ticket to someone else but please let us know if you do so. No swaps to other events.And FINALLY:This walk will be going ahead whatever the weather, unless I deem the conditions dangerous so be ready to embrace the good old British weather!
